Tasting #2: 19 Crimes; Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine was very interesting as it came to LIFE. Not only were the flavors speaking to my tastebuds, but so was Michael Harrington who I learned was a British soldier that turned into a convict by orchestrating an escape from an Australian colony, fighting through a typhoon with a tiny boat to reach freedom.

This wine originates from Eastern Australia and cost $8.99 for the bottle. It has a natural cork enclosure and did not have a year labeled on the bottle for when the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were harvested. This was not my favorite wine, but I would still give it about a 6.7/10 for its bold flavor. The color is lighter than the other Cabernet I tried earlier this week as I could see my hand at the bottom of the glass.

The aroma is that of burnt toast? With some research, I found this could mean it had something to do with oak barrel aging (page 635 of Wine Folly). Other aroma notes are that of spice, red fruits, and a vanilla sweetness. Flavor wise, I could taste dark cherry, a hint of cranberry with its tartness, and spice. It has low acidity, and feels light to drink. The flavor doesn't really linger in your mouth after tasting. Critics from "thegrapepursuit," say this wine has a medium ruby color with medium aromas of dark berries, chocolate, cedar, and black pepper.
